Pet Boarding

OARDING
at Bandera Rd. Hospital

Sometimes our furry and feathered family members need a home away from home. At Town & Country Veterinary Hospital, our clean boarding facilities and our caring staff make your pet's stay safe and secure. We offer spacious runs for larger dogs, cozy kennels for smaller ones, and a covered exercise yard for your canines to play in. For cats, we have both single and multi-room condos.  We welcome boarders of the more exotic variety, as well!  Please call us to discuss accommodations and their specific needs.

Because our boarding facilities are co-located with our 24-Hour Hospital, we specialize in caring for older and special needs pets.  Our boarders also have an opportunity to take advantage of routine wellness procedures, grooming services, elective surgeries, and dentistry services.  We even offer a complimentary bath for our canine boarders, with stays of three or more days.  We will be glad to schedule a tour of our boarding facilities for you and your family.

Vaccination Requirements

In order to provide a healthy place for pets to stay, we require all of our boarders to be current on all vaccinations as well as parasite free. We request verification of vaccination records, prior to check-in. Please see the links below for our required vaccination protocols for dogs & cats.

Check-in/out

Although we are a 24-hour facility, we prefer that you pick your pet up between 7am and 10pm for the well-being of all our boarders. After 10pm boarding pets are "tucked in" for the night. Retrieving pets after "bedtime" disturbs the rest of our boarders, and such intrusions can cause undue anxiety in some pets. If you need to pick your pet up after 10pm, please let us know so we can make arrangements in advance.

Food & Bedding

Unless your pet is on a special diet, no need to bring food.  We feed all of our canine & feline guests Hill’s Science Diet high quality pet food while they stay with us.  Our caring kennel technicians gladly provide clean bedding and bowls for your furry pets, as well.  We strongly discourage bringing your pet’s favorite toy, for with our frequent cleaning we would hate for it to somehow get lost in the wash!

For our more exotic guests (birds, lizards, pocket pets, etc.) we ask that you bring their cage, bedding, food, and any other special supplies they may need during their stay with us.  This will allow us to meet all of their unique needs while they are in our care.

Medications & Special Needs Pets

Our medical staff is on hand 24/7 for all of our boarders with special needs/medical conditions, whether your pet is blind, deaf, geriatric, diabetic or otherwise in need of special care.  We do ask that you bring any medication for your pet in the original bottle with the prescription.  And any other prescription food or dietary supplements should be provided with clearly written instructions for portions & frequency.

If you have any questions or concerns about the attention your special pet may need, please call us anytime or come by so we can discuss them with you.

Other Services Offered While Boarding

When scheduled in advance, our boarders also have an opportunity to take advantage of many of our other services while staying with us; thus minimizing the trips to the vet and having 24/7 medical attention, providing the best all-around care for your pets.  Talk to us about having routine wellness procedures such as vaccines or annual testing, grooming services, elective surgeries, or dentistry services on your pet’s next stay with us!
